From 2020 to 2024, we launched The Innovation and five sister journals, and initiated a groundbreaking roundtable conference model: "The Innovation Conference". This is an academic meeting dedicated to problem-solving. Centered around the axis of "problem-collecting, problem-discussing, problem-solving, problem-publishing and industrial-translation", The Innovation Conference caters to various needs of scientists, bridging academic and industry.
"The Innovation Conference 2023" was held in Hangzhou in November 2023, featured a "problem-solving" roundtable discussion on seven key themes: international cooperation in new age, climate crisis and carbon neutrality, health management in the post-pandemic era, artificial intelligence security, social responsibility of young scientists, face-to-face with editors, and industrial translation. Participants included fifteen academicians, frontline researchers, editors from prestigious journals like Cell, Nature and Science. Over 60 investment institutions and nearly 500 people, including the initiators of the "ONCE Hangzhou Initiative", were welcomed. Five joint teams formed at the conference are now actively engaged in problem-solving endeavors.
